Emsteel, the largest domestic steel producer in the United Arab Emirates, announced a long-term natural gas supply agreement with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The 20-year agreement, valued at $3.5 billion to $4.2 billion, ensures stable gas supplies from January 1, 2027, supporting Emsteel's ongoing operations as well as its future expansion into low-carbon steel production and industrial development. Zero 2050 Commitments. Reliable gas availability will enable the company to continue to develop green steel technologies, improve efficiency across the value chain, and contribute to the country's broader industrial development within its domestic value structure.
According to the company, 86 percent of its current energy supply already comes from clean energy sources. Emsteel is expanding its sustainability initiatives through investments in hydrogen-based green steel production, carbon capture and storage technology, and a zero-waste manufacturing model through its True Green™
program.
