Norilsk Nickel plans to sell its non-core asset (the Shirinskoye company), which holds a gold mining license at the Bystrinsko-Shirinsky deposit in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
The license area is adjacent to the subsurface area where the Bystrinsky polymetallic ore deposit (including copper, iron and gold) is located, which is the main asset of Bystrinsky GOK. The geological reserves of the Bystrinsko-Shirinsky gold deposit amount to 6.08 tons (categories C1 and C2), the average metal content in the ore is 2.58 g/t, the estimated resources (categories P1 and P2) are 15 tons with an average metal content in the ore of 1.84–2.06 g/t.
Geological exploration is underway in the subsurface area. Norilsk Nickel produces gold as an associated raw material in the extraction of other metals from complex ores. The company does not disclose the volume of gold production.
Experts estimate the asset at 200-300 million rubles.
