According to Danieli, the scope of the project includes the installation of a new rolling mill with new crates, which allows to increase the size of the ingot to 165 mm. The breeder stated that this configuration is intended to prepare the facility for the future installation of the winding line.
Danieli explained that the roll winding line will initially be capable of producing 2.5 mt rolls, while the layout will allow rolls to be upgraded to 5 mt later. The upgraded rolling mill will continue to supply the existing bar line, producing sizes from 2 mm x 8 mm to 40 mm. At the same time, the planned winding line will be designed for the production of coils in the diameter range of 10-25 mm.
According to the manufacturer of the plant, one of the main objectives of the project is to complete the reconstruction within a single shutdown period of only 45 days. Danieli noted that this will be achieved through customized engineering solutions and extensive pre-assembly activities aimed at minimizing installation and commissioning time on site.
