In early January (January 1-10) of this year, the average price in China for HRB 400E 20 mm rebar increased by 7 yuan/ton ($1/ton) or 0.2 percent to 3191.6 yuan/ton ($455/ton) compared with the price at the end of December (December 21-31), as announced by the National Bureau of Statistics of China.
During this period, all average prices for steel sheet, seamless steel pipes and corners decreased by 0.3 percent, while average prices for wire rod and hot-rolled roll (HRC) increased by 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, compared to the end of December.
