These products are mainly focused on the automotive, mechanical and precision engineering industries, where demand for specialized steel grades remains high.
At the same time, Arcosteel is looking to expand its export presence. With current overseas shipments of about 100,000 tons of billets and a target revenue of $90 million, the new investments are expected to significantly increase exports of Egyptian specialty steel, wire products, and cold-rolled materials to key markets including Turkey, as well as European countries such as Italy, Spain, Germany, Poland, and Bulgaria.
Since acquiring El Ashry Steel Group in 2021, Arcosteel has already increased its annual production capacity from 140,000 to 240,000 tons. Thus, it is expected that the upcoming investment phase will further strengthen Egypt's position as a supplier of specialty and processing steel products, going beyond the traditional focus on semi-finished products.
