The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of an administrative review of the countervailing duty (CVD) of certain carbon steel cut-off (CTL) sections from South Korea for the review period (POR) of January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024.
The Department of Commerce has tentatively determined that countervailing subsidies were provided to mandatory respondents. Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd. and Hyundai Steel Company, manufacturers and exporters of these products. The Ministry of Finance has set preliminary net compensation subsidy rates of 1.89 percent for Dongkuk Steel Mill Co., Ltd. and 1.39 percent for Hyundai Steel Company.
In addition, the Department of Justice partially reversed this review with respect to Daeik Eng Co., Ltd. and MAIKO International after domestic stakeholders promptly withdrew their requests to review the two companies.
