China Railway Corporation (CRC) announced that total fixed capital investment (FAI) in China's railways was 248.5 billion yuan ($36.5 billion) in January-May this year, a historically high level for January-May, up 2.6 percent year on year.
CRC said China aims to commission more 2,000 kilometers of new railway lines in 2026
In 2025, China's railway FAI was 901.5 billion yuan, an increase of 6.0 percent year on year, with 3,109 kilometers of new railway lines put into operation.
