According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), for the period from January to August of this year, rebar production in China amounted to 113.54 million tons, which is 11.8% less than in the same period last year.
During the specified period, the domestic production of wire rod amounted to 83.4 million tons, a decrease of 6.5% year-on-year, while the production of welded pipes amounted to 40.031 million tons, an increase of 4.4% year-on-year.
In August alone, the production of rebar, wire rod and welded pipes in China amounted to 12.589 million tons, 10.176 million tons and 5.226 million tons, respectively, which is 18.5% less, a decrease of 10.1% and an increase of 5.6% year-on-year, as well as a decrease of 4.8%, an increase of 1.6% and a decrease of 0.5% on a monthly basis, respectively.
