CBAM costs and compliance requirements are reviewed требований
CBAM entered its final phase on January 1, 2026, covering imports to the EU from several carbon-intensive sectors, including metallurgy. Payments made in the country of manufacture can be deducted if the necessary evidence is available.
During the meeting, participants discussed the potential impact of CBAM-related costs and compliance requirements for Turkish steel producers supplying products to EU consumers. The issues of emissions regulation, investments in low-carbon steel production, environmental indicators and the consequences of changes in the EU's climate and trade policy were also discussed. Participants also discussed the growing importance of carbon intensity and regulatory compliance for access to the European steel market.
