The Izhora Pipe Plant, which specializes in the production of large diameter pipes from the strips of the Cherepovets metallurgical plant, manufactured more than 165 thousand tons of pipes in the first half of 2013. The plant produces pipes for use in large oil and gas projects in Russia and abroad.
The results indicate 2 percent of sales growth compared to the same period in 2012. Large projects of Gazprom and Transneft in the first half of 2013 actively contributed to the growth of demand for large -diameter pipes, and allowed the tube factory to work at full capacity. In 2013, current contracts with Transneft include products for the Polar Circle, as well as the use of pipes for repair and other transneft projects.
In the 1st half -year 2013, the Izhora Pipe Plant supplied Gazprom for the gas pipeline South Stream, which will provide the central and southern regions natural gas. This gas pipeline is vital for the development of gas infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted gas supplies.
The Izhora Pipe Plant also supplied products for the construction of the Bovanenkovo, Ukhta gas pipeline, as well as products for the overall repair of Gazprom and maintenance. In addition, in 2013, the plant began shipment of products to Central Asia and China for a large international pipeline. More than 7 thousand km of the pipeline will connect all the main deposits of natural gas in Central Asia with the China gas transmission system.
