The cost of steel exports from South Korea fell in August by 6 percent

According to data published in the Department of Export and Import of the Ministry of Economy of South Korea, up to 2 billion 710 million US dollars fell from the export of steel in August 2013, which is 5.9 percent less than a month earlier. The sales balance of South Korea closed in August with a surplus of 4 billion 920 million US dollars, demonstrating an improvement in the 19th consecutive month in a row against the backdrop of export growth, total income from which increased by 7.7 percent, to 46 billion 370 million US dollars. At the same time, import expenses decreased by 0.8 percent compared to the same period last year, to 41 billion 450 million US dollars.

The greatest breakthrough was made by car and vessels that increased export revenues by 43.9 percent and 26.2 percent, respectively. However, the price of export of household appliances from South Korea in August decreased to 3 billion 400 million dollars, which is 5.9 percent lower than in 2012.

According to the Ministry of Economy of South Korea, export supplies to Japan were reduced, and in the EU and the United States, on the contrary, they grew up. A similar trend was observed in the markets of developing countries: exports to countries in the Middle East fell, and ASEAN, China and Latin America grew to countries - grew.

Most of the metal products were shipped to China, which has become the general partner of South Korea in the last decade.
