In the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow today opened plots for voting in the election of the mayor of the city. Six candidates apply for the mayor.
This is Mikhail Degtyarev from the LDPR, Nikolai Levich from Fair Russia, Ivan Melnikov from the Communist Party, Sergey Mitrokhin from Yabloko, Alexei Navalny from the RPR-Parnas and temporarily acting mayor, self-nominated Sergey Sobyanin.
Polling stations will close at 20 hours Moscow time. Prior to this, according to the Moscow authorities, 10 thousand police officers will ensure security in voting sites.
In total, today 42 thousand police officers are on duty around Moscow. In 3400 polling stations, seven thousand video surveillance cameras were installed. Today, elections of various levels are held in all regions of Russia with the exception of St. Petersburg and Kabardino-Balkaria.
