Mariupol Metallurgical Plant Azovstal reduced the production of steel by 3.6 percent

In January - August 2013, the Azovstal Mariupol Metallurgical Plant (Azovstal MK), Metinvest, reduced the production of steel compared to APPG -2012 by 3.6 percent, to 3 million 50 thousand tons. At the same time, the company managed to maintain the production of metal rolling at the level of last year - 2 million 800 thousand tons, and the production of cast iron decreased by 3.5 percent, to 2 million 640 thousand tons.

In August, 385 thousand tons of steel, 335 thousand tons of cast iron and 354 thousand tons of metal rolling were produced at the Azovstal MK.

Recall that according to the results of 2012, the Azovstal MK reduced the production of steel by 17.7 percent, to 4 million 593 thousand tons, the cast iron smelting - by 17.2 percent, up to 4 million 26 thousand tons and the production of finished rental - by 22 percent, up to 4 million 168 thousand tons.

Azovstal Metallurgical Plant OJSC is a modern high -tech enterprise that produces a wide range of metal products: slabs, varietal and shaped rental, railway rails, rail fasteners, a square workpiece, a thick leaf, products made of metallurgical slag.

The production capacity of the plant allows for more than 5.5 million tons of cast iron per year, more than 6.4 million tons of steel, including a 4.4 million tons converter, more than 4.4 million tons of rental. Design capacities for the production of rail bonds are 285 thousand tons per year, grinding balls - 170 thousand tons per year.
