The high court in Johannesburg ordered the steel giant Arcelormittal SA (AMSA) to present his environmental notes by Vaal Environment Justice Alliance (environmental alliance of justice), according to Star.
According to the publication, the VEJA public organization has collected documents since 2011. The organization was interested in documents containing AMSA environmental plans that would show in detail the real levels of pollution at Arcelormittal SA plants from 2000 to 2002. The documents also recorded, where AMSA illegally dropped their dangerous waste.
The environmental department took measures against the company that is accused of deliberate violations. In turn, AMSA noted that the documents submitted by Veja are not related to this issue either long ago and are scientifically unfounded. The company said that she had never developed plans for this kind and never used them to get licenses for the implementation of activities.
Arcelormittal SA will publish environmental reports
