The world production of cast iron in August 2013 decreased by 0.3 percent

In August of this year, the universal production of cast iron amounted to 97 million 700 thousand tons, demonstrating a slight fall by 0.3 percent with respect to the previous month and an increase of 6.65 percent to the APPG-2012. This is evidenced by the World Steel Associations (WorldStweel (WSA)).

The production of cast iron in Asia in August reached 75 million 700 thousand tons (an increase of 9.2 percent to the APPG -2012), including 59 million 900 thousand tons (an increase of 11.5 percent), 7 million 140 thousand tons in Japan (drop by 0.75 percent) and in India 4 million 160 thousand tons (an increase of 11.8 percent).

In August, cast iron smelting of cast iron in the countries of the European Union decreased by 1 percent in relation to the APPG-2012 and amounted to 7 million 400 thousand tons, the production of cast iron in the CIS increased by 5.26 percent compared to last year and reached 7 million 60 thousand tons.

At the same time, in the first eight months since the beginning of the year, the growth of world production of cast iron amounted to 4.4 percent compared to the APPG -2012 and the total number of melted cast iron in January - August 2013 reached 779 million 30 thousand tons.
