According to data published by the American Institute of Cast iron and steel (AISI), the production of steel in the United States fell by 1.3 percent last week compared to the previous week and 5.8 percent compared to the same week in 2012. The total production steel in the United States from September 22 to 28, 2013 amounted to 1 million 852 thousand tons.
The loading of metallurgical capacities in the United States fell by one percentage point compared to the previous week and amounted to 77.3 percent, which is higher than the APPG-2012 indicator by 6.9 percent (70.4).
