The leading metallurgical company AK Steel announced on Tuesday October 1 on increasing prices for cold -rolled and hot -rolled sheet steel to 790 and 680 dollars per ton, respectively. In addition, the company announced a complaint to the US Department of Trade of unfair prices when importing cold -rolled electrical steel from six countries of the world.
As stated in the AK Steel statement, the production of steel in China, Korea and in Taiwan receives significant subsidies from the state and using this underestimates the prices of the metal distribution below the economically reasonable level. In this regard, AK Steel requires the introduction of barrage duties in the following sizes:
