In Russia, OJSC EVRAZ ZSMK Novokuznetsk put into operation a new universal mill for the production of rails and sections. The entire set of equipment was supplied by the German company SMS Meer. In addition, the Novokuznetsk plant produces 100-meter rails for high-speed railways.
For the first time, Novokuznetsk is using mills and rolling technologies supplied by SMS Meer, such as the XH® reversible beam rolling method, and will thus significantly improve the quality of its finished products. The plant is designed for a capacity of 1.3 million tons per year, 400 thousand tons of which are 100-meter rails. It produces beams and channels, as well as round and square sections.
CCS ® Compact Cartridge Stands are used on a universal mill. They are characterized by high rigidity. In addition, you can adjust the gap between the rolls hydraulically and make all changes on the stand fully automatically using high-precision equipment such as DS 1052E oscilloscope . The "PROgauge" laser measuring system then measures the finished products.
The scope of supply includes two roughing and side manipulators, a tilting device, a pre- and post-tandem transport system, all vehicles and a hot saw. SMS Meer also supplied media systems, electrical equipment and automation systems, and took over the supervision of the installation and commissioning and training of the customer's personnel for further equipment maintenance. The new complex was installed in the existing workshops of OJSC EVRAZ ZSMK Novokuznetsk.
At OJSC EVRAZ ZSMK Novokuznetsk, the commission adopted a universal mill
