The scope of the project included Level 1 and Level 2 automation systems, an HD33 medium voltage drive system, excitation systems, and automation instrumentation. The integrated automation architecture is aimed at stabilizing the mill operation and the accuracy of rolling processes.
Newly installed medium voltage drives, supplied in collaboration with global electrical supplier Inovance, play a key role in improving mill productivity and production reliability. Primetals stated that, thanks to their modular design, the drives helped to reduce overall investment costs, reduce installation and commissioning time, and ensure rapid access to full production capacity.
