Operational indicators of the MMC of Ukraine in April and 4 months of 2018

According to the operational data of Ukrmetallurgprom, in April 2018, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced:

pig iron 1.64 million tons (98% versus March 2018),
steel 1.69 million tons (99%),
rolled stock 1.48 million tons (98%).

A slight decrease in the production of main types of products in April 2018 compared to the previous month is due to repair work at a number of production units.

For 4 months of 2018 produced:

pig iron 6.89 million tons (109% compared to the same period in 2017, taking into account the work in January-February 2017 of enterprises on tubing, or 118% without taking them into account),
steel 6.9 million tons (99% taking into account the enterprises on tubing, or 105% without taking them into account),
of rolled products 6.07 million tons (101% taking into account enterprises on tubing, or 108% without taking them into account).

The slight decrease in the overall level of steel production in 4 months of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017 is mainly a consequence of the loss of a part of the capacity in the uncontrolled territory. However, a comparative analysis of four-month activities in 2017 and 2018. metallurgical enterprises located in the controlled territory testifies to a noticeable increase in their production of pig iron, steel and rolled products.
