According to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, in October 2012, steel production decreased by 1, 7% compared to September and amounted to 2 billion 548 million tons. The production of metal rolling remains almost at the same level of 2 billion 34 thousand tons of finished metal products. Cast iron smelting fell by 4.5% to 2 billion 377 million tons.
During the beginning of the year to October 31, Ukrainian metallurgists produced 23 billion 740 thousand tons of cast iron, 27 billion 143 million tons of steel and 22 billion 215 tons of metal production. For all commodity positions of metallurgical production, a decrease is observed by 5-6% compared to last year's indicators.
The fall of the average monthly volumes of steel smelting in October 2012 against October 2011 reached 15.4%.
