ArcelorMittal will make Kryvorizhstal a "modern enterprise" by 2025

We are gradually moving forward and are not abandoning our goal - to make the enterprise fully modern by 2025, said Paramzhit Kalon, General Director of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in a video interview.

According to him, today the company is working on the construction of machines for continuous casting of billets No. 2 and 3 together with ladle furnace installations in mirror design.

“This is a very large-scale project for which we will spend about $ 144 million. At the same time, the modernization of small section mill No. 4, which will soon be put into operation, continues, ”said Mr. Kalon.

Arcelor Mittal plans to build a new pelletizing plant in Krivoy Rog in 2020–2021. with a capacity of 5 million tons per year. Work is also underway on a complete renovation of the largest blast furnace of the metallurgical plant and an air separation unit.

Five to six years later, the head of the Ukrainian division of the largest metallurgical company in the world sees the former Kryvorizhstal as a completely modernized enterprise, which “is not inferior in terms of the level of any European mining and metallurgical complex, meets all modern standards.”

According to Mr. Kalon, we are talking about compliance with environmental standards, the level of emissions into the environment, technological productivity, product quality, production - all this in general.
