Ukrzaliznytsia Raises Tariffs for Freight Transportation. Prices rose 14.2%. The changes took effect on March 30th. This was reported by the press service of the company.
The carrier carried out the indexation even earlier than planned, as it was previously mentioned that the tariffs would increase from April 1.
The company says that in the future, tariffs will automatically change on a quarterly basis in accordance with the dynamics of prices of manufacturers of industrial products. By July 1, 2019, Ukrzaliznytsia will develop a tariff setting concept. Funds from the indexation of tariffs will go to a special investment account.
From May 1, tariffs for cargo transportation and related services will rise by another 2.5%, from August 1 - by 5%, and from November 1 - by 7.5%. Indexation will also affect the prices of goods, works and services, the cost of which is not regulated by the state, in connection with which the company will be able to hedge currency risks on its loan portfolio.
