The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that US steel mills shipped 8,115,10 tons of steel products in July 2019, up 5.1 percent from 7,718,499 tons shipped in the previous month in June 2019. there was also an increase of 2.6% compared to 7,911,228 tonnes shipped in July 2018.
YTD shipments in 2019 totaled 56,338,348 net tonnes, up 2.0% from shipments in 2018 of 55,215,285 net tonnes in seven months.
Comparison of July deliveries with the previous month shows the following changes on the side of growth: cold-rolled sheets (up to 9 percent), hot-rolled sheets (up to 6 percent) and galvanized sheets and strips - no changes.
