Steel production in Ukraine in 2019 will decrease by 2.8% per year

According to statistics from Ukraine, total crude steel production in 2019 will be about 20.5 million tonnes, down 2.8% year on year, also the lowest since 1991.

In the current year, the total production of crude steel in November reached 1.3 million tons, and in December amounted to 1.2 million tons.

While global billet prices have continued to rise in recent years, many Ukrainian steel mills have decided to phase out production, including ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine's largest integrated steel company.
