According to the Iranian Organization for the Development and Reconstruction of the Mining Industry (Imidro), the largest Iranian steel producers reported an 83% increase in exports for the month from November 21 to 673,772 tons.
In the eight months of the Iranian financial year, steel exports rose 15% year on year to 4.72 million tonnes.
Steel production at large Iranian steel mills rose 6% month-on-month to 1.75 million tonnes, Imidro said.
The direct decline in pig iron production by major producers increased by 13% to 2.33 million tonnes. Production of iron ore pellets increased by 8% to 3.38 million tonnes, while production of iron ore concentrate increased by 3% to 3.93 million tonnes.
Imidro previously reported that for eight months through November 21, overall Iranian steel production rose 5% year-on-year to 17.44 million tonnes; finished steel production increased 7% to 13.56 million tonnes. He adds that pellet production remained unchanged at 27.74 million tonnes, while iron ore concentrate production rose 4% to 31.5 million tonnes.
