To increase demand for steel, the Indonesian government plans to relocate the country's capital

In accordance with government policy in Indonesia, it was decided to move the capital of the country from Jakarta to East Kalimantan.

The policy should lead to a huge demand for metal products. Total demand in Indonesia is expected to reach 22.7 million tonnes by 2024, which is 50% higher than in 2018.

The capital relocation project in Indonesia is expected to take about 20 years.
