Metalinvest controls the metallurgical plant in Transnistria

Since 2011, the Metalloinvest mining and metallurgical holding has been interested in obtaining the main share of shares of the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant OJSC. The plant was created in 1985 in Transnistria. It combines the production of varietal rental and electric steel -smelter. In the year, the company can produce 1 million tons of steel of 0.9 million tons of rental.

In the conditions of the crisis, the plant had problems with selling products. This led to a significant decrease in production volumes. Compared to 2007, the production of steel and rental in 2011 decreased almost three times. According to official data from the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant OJSC, Eim Energy Investment & Management Corporation (45.6%), Rumney Trust Reg. (45%), Decagon Avionics limited (8.23%), and the labor collective belongs to 1.17%.

Currently, the Metalloinvest Holding has achieved a positive decision from the Federal Antimonopoly Service to obtain the right to control the entrepreneurial activity of the Moldavian Metallurgical Plant OJSC. 50% of the shares of the Metalloinvest mining and metallurgical holding belongs to the USM Holdings Ltd. Alisher Usmanova, in which his share is 60%.
