Exports of Russian pig iron to the United States decreased

Over the past 12 months of 2020, according to customs statistics, exports of Russian-made pig iron to the United States amounted to 1.32 million tons, or 31.5% of all Russian exports of these products. In relation to 2019, the supply volumes decreased by 26.5%.

About 50% of shipments were registered by the customs of the Orenburg region (manufactured by JSC Uralskaya Stal No., Novotroitsk). Compared to 2019, the volume of deliveries decreased by 15%. The average price of this type of product at the Russian border in December was 380.6 US dollars per It increased by 11% in comparison with October (in November there was no registration of deliveries) .In January 2021, prices decreased by 5%.

Approximately 40% was the share of shipments through the Lipetsk region (manufactured by NLMK, Lipetsk). Compared to 2019, the volume of these supplies increased 3.3 times. The average price in December was USD 319 per tonne. In the previous 2 months, as well as in January 2021, there was no registration of deliveries.

At the same time, 13% was the share of shipments through the Tula region (JSC "Tulachermet", Tula). Compared to 2019, the supply volumes decreased by 80%. The average price in December was USD 328 per tonne. In the previous 5 months, there was no registration of deliveries, and in January 2021 the price remained practically unchanged.
