The capacity utilization rate was 83.0%, up 0.3% over the week and also up 24.7% year on year.
As of the week ended July 3, crude steel production in the United States this year was about 46.9 million short tons, an increase of 16.0% over the same period last year. The production capacity utilization rate was 79.0%, which is 11.3% more than a year earlier.
