On September 27, the company reported that Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas was forced to shut down blast furnace # 2 at its Ipatinga plant following the September 24 incident.
The shutdown can last from 90 to 150 days, "depending on the repair solution that will be implemented," the company said in a statement.
