The Luxembourg manufacturer of Tenaris steel pipes announced the completion of the modernization of the exhaust system of the Koppel Steel in Pennsylvania worth $ 85 million. The project is part of a wider investment program of $ 140 million at the facility because it was integrated into the Tenaris industrial network in 2020.
The update emphasizes the constant Tenaris agenda in the field of sustainable development with an emphasis on the cleaner production of steel and improving the quality of air for surrounding communities. The system will more effectively capture and separate dust and solid particles, as well as reduce carbon monoxide emissions.
The modern design of the system
is based Sleeping system with one stack, replacing the previous configuration with ten stacks. This change simplifies the monitoring of emissions, restraint and compliance with requirements. Modernization includes:
- Technology of the pulsed jet sleeve for effective cleaning of the filter
- Expansion of the return box for the separation of particles
- New GC for cooling technological gases
- Modernized air ducts and a water cooling townspeople to increase efficiency
- new Compressors and an electric room to support auxiliary systems
Together, these improvements provide better maintenance, increased efficiency and higher environmental characteristics.
