According to preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in August of this year, the import of blanks and blums to Turkey amounted to 378,190 metric tons, which is 16.5 percent less than in July and 38.6 percent more year-on-year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated from these imports totaled 187.79 million US dollars, down 15.5 percent from the previous month and up 26.4 percent year-on-year.

In the period from January to August, the import of blanks and blums to Turkey amounted to 2.90 million tons, which is 58.1 percent, and the value of these imports increased. by 39 percent to $1.45 billion in both cases per year.
