CPCA: Retail sales of passenger cars in China increased by 6.3% in September 2025

According to an analysis of the automotive market conducted by the Chinese Passenger Car Association (CPCA), retail sales of passenger cars in China totaled 2.241 million units in September this year, up 6.3 percent from last year, while increasing 11.0 percent month-on-month.

This year, as of September 30, retail sales of passenger cars in China amounted to 17.005 million units, which is 9.2 percent more than a year earlier.

In the month indicated, retail sales of passenger cars powered by new energy sources were estimated at 1.296 million units, up 15.5 percent from last year, while increasing by 16.2 percent from the previous month.

This year, as of September 30, retail sales of passenger cars powered by new energy sources in China amounted to 8.866 million units, which is 24.4 percent more than last year.
