Japanese graphite electrode manufacturer Resonac Graphite has announced a collaboration with Spanish steelmaker Hydnum Steel to improve sustainability and operational safety in electric arc furnace (EAF) steel production. The partnership aims to combine technological innovation with environmental responsibility to make the steel industry safer and more efficient.
Although full details of the collaboration have not yet been revealed, Spanish media reports indicate that the partnership will focus on two key areas:
- Supply of high-performance ultra-high power graphite electrodes for Hydnum Steel's EAF.
- Use of advanced furnace optimization technologies to improve efficiency and safety production.
Optimizing energy consumption using advanced technologies
As part of this cooperation, Resonac Graphite will use the experience of its subsidiary AMI Automation, founded in 2023, specializes in solutions designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. in the production of EAF.
Both companies are also exploring opportunities for joint research, pilot testing and implementation of new furnace technologies at Hydnum Steel production facilities in Spain.
