The Kametstal Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian mining and metallurgical group Metinvest, announced the start of large-scale repair work on the 400/200 rolling mill as part of a maintenance and modernization program until 2025.
The repair work is aimed at increasing the reliability of the main equipment and reducing energy costs in the rolling mill workshop.
Key components undergoing maintenance include:
- Modernization of the 30-ton distribution gearbox of the BGV block No. 10, necessary for the production of wire rod
- Technical maintenance of gearboxes, bearings and other parts of the rolling line of BGW block No. 4
- Modernization of heating furnace systems: replacement of water-cooling elements, improvement of furnace roof insulation and modernization of water circulation systems.
