India's NMDC Steel limited (NSL), a subsidiary of state-owned iron ore mining company NMDC limited, has received quality certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for its hot-rolled steel strips, sheets and plates used to make welded steel pipes used in pipeline transport systems, it said in a statement. the company's statement on Thursday, October 16.
The IS 18384:2023 quality certificate issued by NSL, a first for any steel plant in the country, denotes reference steel products intended for pipeline transport systems in the oil and gas industry and highlights the company's focus on technology and product quality in manufacturing practices, it said statement.
NSL operates a 3 million tonne integrated steel plant in the central state of Chhattisgarh.
