Meanwhile, imports of pig iron and steel in Pakistan totaled 365,171 tons in September, an increase of 30.9% year-on-year and 6.3% compared to the previous month. In this month, the value of Pakistan's ferrous metallurgy imports amounted to $218.66 million, an increase of 17.3% year-on-year and a decrease of 3.9% month-on-month.
Scrap imports to Pakistan increased by 36.1% in September 2025 compared to August
According to data released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics of Pakistan (PFBS), scrap metal imports to Pakistan totaled 359,759 tons in September this year, up 36.1 percent from August and up 30.1 percent year-on-year. The value of these imports in this month amounted to $177.67 million, an increase of 15.2% month-on-month and 11.1% year-on-year.
