New oxygen plant to increase efficiency at Jamshedpur plant
The local VRU is designed to produce 1,800 tons of oxygen per day, as well as nitrogen, argon and dry compressed air. These industrial gases will be mainly used in Tata Steel's blast furnaces and steel mills, supporting efficient and sustainable production.
It is expected that the ASU is currently in the stabilization phase and will be officially transferred to AWIPL next month.
Leveraging AWIPL's global expertise in cryogenic operations, including remote monitoring and maintenance support from its Japanese facilities, the Partnership aims to improve the efficiency, reliability and quality of the Tata Steel plant in Jamshedpur for many years to come.
