Brazil's COMEX foreign trade authority reported average freight rates for steel imports into the country in September.
For coated flat products, they were $59/t from China, $151/t from South Korea, $86/t from Japan, $24/t from Hong Kong and $21/t from Germany.
For HRC, $32/t from South Korea, $36/t from Egypt and $93/t from China.
For CRC: $60/t from South Korea and $71/t from China
For fittings: $56/t from Russia, $79/t from China and $38/t from Egypt
For electrical wiring it was $175/t from China, $41/t from Egypt and $24/t from Turkey.
For beams - $104/t from China and $30/t from Spain.
For wire rod - $57/t from China, $62/t from Russia, $32/t from Egypt, and $20/t from Germany.
In September, Brazilian imports of finished steel products from China by volume were equivalent to 52 percent of the total, up from 51 percent in August.
The average freight rate for Brazilian steel imports in September was US$59 per tonne, up from 62 US dollars per ton in August.
