Sales of flat rolled steel by Brazilian distributors reached 361,700 tons in September, up from 337,400 tons in August, according to industry institute INDA.
On a comparative basis, INDA-related distribution chain acquisitions increased by 9.9 percent to 360,000 tons, while inventory levels decreased by 0.2 percent to 1.084 million tons. a meter representing the equivalent of 3.0 months of consumption compared to 1.086 million tons in August, which is still considered an "uncomfortable" level for the sector.
Imports in September remained stable at 241,400 tons, including heavy sheets, HRC, CRC, galvanized, HDG, pre-painted and electroplated products.
Compared to September 2024, sales in September 2025 increased by 10.6 percent, purchases increased by 5.4 percent, and imports decreased by 16.6 percent.
INDA's expectations for October 2025 are that acquisitions and sales will remain at the August 2025 level.
