The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) announced that in mid-October (October 11-20) this year, the average cumulative daily crude steel output of large and medium-sized steel mills in China - all CISA members - was 2.014 million tons, down 0.9 percent from early October (October 1-10) this year.
At the beginning of October, the average daily production of crude steel by large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China was 2.032 million tons, which is 7.5 percent more than at the end of September (September 21-30) of this year.
Inventory levels of large and medium-sized steel enterprises in China increased during the period. As of October 20, finished steel inventories at large and medium-sized steel mills in China totaled 16.58 million tons, an increase of 4.4 percent compared to October 10.
