The Greek company Sovel invests in a new line of Danieli spoolers to increase the capacity of the valve coil

The Greek steel company Sovel, part of the Spanish steel manufacturer Sidenor Group, has ordered a new line of spool valves for its Almyros micro milling cutter in Greece from the Italian manufacturer Danieli. After commissioning, the upgraded line will allow the production of compact, non-twisted rebar in a roll weighing up to eight tons with a diameter from 8 mm to 25 mm.

The equipment includes two winding machines, a new shearing machine and strapping systems integrated with the Danieli MIDA endless casting and rolling mill, which has recently been upgraded with the high-speed Danieli Octocaster. These investments are expected to increase production efficiency, improve valve quality, and significantly reduce processing costs.

This installation is designed to ensure continuous, uninterrupted production of long-length steel products. Danieli Automation's Q-VID technology will support the project by providing precise control and contour shaping of the coil to minimize deformation and ensure uniform coil geometry.
