The production of base metals in Taiwan in September 2025 decreased by 2.40 percent compared to August

Taiwan's industrial production index in September this year decreased by 1.05 percent from the previous month and grew by 15.48 percent year-on-year, according to the country's Ministry of Economy (MOEA). Meanwhile, Taiwan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index decreased by 0.12 percent month-on-month and increased by 13.29 percent year-on-year.

In this month, industrial production in the country's main metallurgical sector fell by 2.40 percent, while steel production increased by 1.40 percent compared to the previous month. In addition, year-on-year in September, the production volume of the main metalworking sector decreased by 2.63 percent, while the production volume of metal products increased by 5.93 percent.

Meanwhile, in September, production in Taiwan's machinery industry increased by 6.03 percent, while production in the automotive industry increased by 10.71 percent year-on-year.
