The Vyartsila hardware plant in the Sortavala district of Karelia is being stopped due to decreased demand for the company's products.
The production activities of the plant will be temporarily suspended from February 1, 2026 to July 1, 2026. “This decision is a difficult and forced step, which we have been postponing for a long time in the face of complex changes in market conditions, hoping for a restoration of demand for the company’s products.”
Due to the shutdown of the plant, we are forced to fire 146 employees of the company.
We would like to remind you that in February 2023, the AEK plant was closed in Kostomuksha, and workers were laid off. Then, on the premises of the plant, which was part of the Finnish concern and manufactured electrical wiring for heavy-duty vehicles and buses Volvo, Scania, MAN, a branch of the Vostok-Service workwear factory was opened.
