According to information published by EUROFER, in the first eight months, the main steel export destinations from the EU were the United Kingdom, the United States, Turkey, Switzerland and India. These five areas together accounted for 59 percent of the total exports of EU finished products. The countries that recorded annual growth in exports of finished steel from the EU were Algeria with 83 percent, India with 28 percent and the United Kingdom with 14 percent. Exports to Egypt decreased by 32 percent, while exports to China, the United States, Turkey, Norway, and Switzerland decreased by 25 percent, 17 percent, 12 percent, 11 percent, and one percent, respectively.
The main destination countries for exports of finished steel from the EU with a trade surplus in finished products in the first eight months of 2025 were the United States with 181,000 tons, the United Kingdom with 163,000 tons and Switzerland with 113,000 tons
The five largest trade deficits of finished products with individual trading partners during this period included South Korea (295,000 tons), Turkey (283,000 tons), Taiwan (178,000 tons), China (175,000 tons) and Vietnam (165,000 tons)
