ArcelorMittal France will launch a new electrical steel production line by the end of 2025

ArcelorMittal France запустит новую линию по производству электротехнической стали к концу 2025 года
ArcelorMittal France, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based steel manufacturer ArcelorMittal, has announced its plans to launch a new electrical steel production line at its Mardyck plant in northern France by the end of 2025, further expanding its industrial presence in the electrical steel markets driven by Europe's accelerating transition to electric mobility. The new facility will allow the group to supply high-quality electrical steels needed for electric vehicles, engines, generators and industrial transformers.

This new €500 million production line represents the largest investment by the ArcelorMittal Group in Europe over the past 10 years. With this new production facility, which complements the one at Saint-Chely-d'apchet, ArcelorMittal Group's annual electrical steel production capacity in Europe will reach 295,000 tons. All of ArcelorMittal's electrical steels in Europe will be produced in France, strengthening the French ecosystem around electromobility and the energy transition.

Supporting European electrification and regional industry

ArcelorMittal says the new production line will strengthen internal supply chains for European manufacturers seeking locally produced electrical steels with lower carbon footprints. The Mardyck project is consistent with France's industrial strategy to strengthen regional production centers and reduce dependence on imported specialty steels.

The facility will benefit from:
