"It was one of the most intense campaigns in recent years. The workshop staff was well prepared and successfully completed the production tasks. They worked even faster than planned and prevented significant energy overruns," said Yuri Mikhailov, Deputy General Director for Production and Technology.
According to him, a standard set of channels from 14 to 30 was produced during the campaign. We also rolled 1,4 thousand tons of channels according to European standards, small volumes of corner 125 and shaft rack SVP-22. Supplies of blanks to the DMZ began two weeks before the start of production.
The U100, U120, U140 and U160 channels were produced for the European market. Testing of rolls continued, of which the company purchased a small batch abroad in the summer. Based on the test results, the company plans to continue cooperation with a new supplier.
The workshop also started mastering the production of the Ø60 circle.
"Structurally, the 550 wheel differs from those on which the wheel is usually manufactured. However, the experiment showed that the workshop could potentially produce this profile. Several blanks were passed through the production line, and technical issues that need to be worked on were identified. We will move forward step by step," Mikhailov said.
The next production campaign at rolling mill No. 2 is scheduled to be held in February.
