Rio Tinto планирует увеличить прибыль на 50% к 2030 году за счет увеличения производства меди и оптимизации
Rio Tinto plans to increase EBITDA by 40-50% by 2030 by increasing copper production, reducing costs, selling assets and optimizing operations.

These estimates are based on a long-term consensus price forecast, as well as plans to increase copper production by 20% by the end of the decade.

Rio Tinto CEO Simon Trott said during a conversation with investors that the company intends to receive $5-10 billion through the sale of non-core assets or minority stakes in them to its partners. These funds will be reinvested in the development of other areas, he noted.

Rio Tinto is conducting a strategic audit of its titanium, iron and borate business and is studying market demand for these assets.

The implementation of existing lithium projects will continue, but additional investments in them will be carried out provided that a sufficient level of payback is achieved.

Rio Tinto plans to reduce capital expenditures in the medium term. They are expected to reach less than $10 billion per year from 2028, compared with about $11 billion in 2025.

Average operating costs per unit will decrease by 4% annually by the end of the decade.

Measures aimed at improving operational efficiency also include staff reductions, Trott said, without specifying how many jobs are planned.

Rio Tinto shares rose 3.9% in Sydney trading on Thursday. At the auction in London, the company's shares rose by 0.4%.
