The cities of Handan, Baoding, Hengshui, Cangzhou and Xingtai in China's Hebei Province have decided to launch Level II emergency response from 12:00 on December 8th to mitigate pollution.
Accordingly, the use of heavy trucks meeting national IV or lower emission standards (including gas) for transportation is prohibited. In the steel, coking and other related industries, road transport of materials and products must be carried out by heavy-duty trucks powered by pure electricity or fuel cells or heavy-duty trucks that comply with National VI emission standards (including gas-powered trucks), with the exception of special purpose vehicles and vehicles for transporting hazardous chemicals.
Emergency response measures are expected to be lifted on December 11, when pollution will decrease.
